Committed to putting community first by listening to residents, supporting local businesses, and making informed decisions to unite and strengthen the City of Surprise. With over 32 years of business experience, I pledge to serve with dedication, ensuring a thriving, connected, and prosperous future for all.

Surprise is headed in the right direction with a mayor and council who work incredibly well together. We need to make sure that it stays that way. It has been my honor to serve on the council for the past four years, including a term as Vice Mayor. Being Mayor of Surprise is a full-time job, and the citizens deserve nothing less. I am the only candidate with the experience necessary to hit the ground running and the commitment to give this job the full-time attention it requires. As Mayor, I will dedicate myself fully to the responsibilities of this role, ensuring that our city continues to thrive with effective leadership and decisive action.

I have 32 years of professional experience in financial services and business acquisitions. As Vice President and Regional Membership Manager, I trained over 10,000 employees and managed a portfolio of customers with over $86 million in deposits. I have significant financial experience and fully recognize the importance of transparency, attention to detail, and protecting the taxpayer. In this difficult economy and with the reduction of revenues shared by the state, I am committed to striking the right balance between funding essential city services and making sure that Surprise remains as affordable as possible.

Public safety is my top priority, and I will fight hard every day to ensure that our first responders have the tools and resources they need to be there when we need them most. Public safety is more than just the fire and police personnel who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. It also means investing in safer intersections and well-connected roads that help keep emergency response times low. We are making some strides to improve our streets, but there is more work to be done – especially in the growing parts of our city. Strengthening these infrastructure investments will ensure our community remains safe and resilient for years to come.

I am a proud supporter of Luke Air Force Base and its F35 mission. The base is not only critical to our national security, but it is also an economic asset that benefits all surrounding cities — including Surprise. My husband Gary is a Vietnam Veteran and I recognize the important role that our city plays in supporting all of the brave men and women who have served our country. I have proudly supported the Veterans Roundtable and the Veterans Support Group in Grand. I participated in the City of Surprise Vet Fest, Stand Down events and worked with the City’s Veteran Services Coordinator. I have also supported a number of our local military support groups (i.e. Vet Link, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans).

I have had the honor of serving District 2, which includes The Grand at Surprise and a significant number of retirement communities. I have also participated in district meetings throughout the city, including representing the city on several occasions in District 4, which includes the original townsite. Our city is vibrant and diverse – from new families with young children to people seeking retirement. I want to bring the many parts of the city together to ensure that it serves all generations and offers the excellent amenities that protect and strengthen our quality of life. Together, we can foster a unified community where every resident feels valued and supported in our shared vision for the future.

Over the past decades, I've dedicated over 21,000 hours to serving Surprise through various impactful roles. As Relay for Life of Surprise Event Chair (2013 & 2014), I organized events supporting cancer research. For 12 years, I led Friends of the Surprise Libraries Inc., advocating for literacy. Additionally, I coached City of Surprise T-Ball for 9 years and served as an official scorekeeper for youth baseball tournaments for 11 years, nurturing youth development through sports. I've also contributed my expertise to civic committees like the Disabled Advisory Commission and various roles within Sun City Grand, including the Long Range Planning Committee and Financial Advisory Committees.
