As we reflect on the recent election results, it is with a mix of gratitude and humility that I acknowledge we came up short on the votes. With the end of my term in December as Councilmember, I will be retiring once again, this time from the realm of politics. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I am profoundly thankful for the support and trust you have placed in me. Serving this great city has been an honor, and I cherish the connections and experiences that have shaped my tenure.

Surprise has always been a city brimming with potential, and I am confident that we will continue to thrive and prosper in the years to come. My commitment to our community remains unwavering, and I look forward to volunteering my time to support our local schools and communities. I invite you to visit the library, where we can continue to connect and work together for the betterment of our city. Your presence is always a joy, and together, we can continue to make a difference.

Throughout the election, there was a considerable amount of misinformation and false narratives circulating. It's disheartening how easily people can accept information from a so-called "trusted source" without seeking the truth for themselves. While I firmly support freedom of speech, a cornerstone of our democracy, I believe that venom and hate only serve to divide us. Kindness, virtue, and truth are the values that will always guide us forward.

My political views as a long-standing Republican have been questioned, but I have never wavered in my principles. I stand in the service of others, as a strong conservative woman leader, inspired by my mother's legacy and the opportunities she never had. Accountability is crucial, and I will continue to hold our elected officials to the highest standards, just as I have held myself accountable throughout my service.

Surprise is a beautiful city, made even more remarkable by its residents. Let us not allow the negativity of others to overshadow the beauty within each of us. Stand strong in the face of adversity and lead with grace and resilience. Our future generations depend on the examples we set today to maintain the freedoms we cherish.
